A faith-based nonprofit committed to the dignity and wholeness of every person we serve — since 1987.
Damien Ministries is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit faith-based organization and community health incubator dedicated to driving meaningful change — particularly for those who are economically disadvantaged, isolated, or abandoned in their suffering.
We serve through dedication, compassion, and mutual support. Every person who walks through our doors is welcomed regardless of religious background. We do not proselytize. We simply show up.
Damien Ministries is committed to serving all people regardless of race, gender, creed, or sexual orientation.
We began as neighbors. We remain neighbors.
Louis J. Tesconi, Esq. founded Damien Ministries to serve "the poorest of the poor," inspired by the life of Blessed Father Damien of Molokai — a priest who chose to live among those cast out by society. The organization began as an all-volunteer effort, with ordinary people choosing to show up for those who needed them most.

As needs grew, Damien Ministries hired its first full-time Executive Director and expanded services to include case managers, faith-based outreach, and a food bank — building the foundation for what the organization is today.
Nearly four decades later, Damien Ministries operates two locations, runs multiple programs, and continues to earn the trust of the communities it serves through consistent, compassionate care.
